  • Annual celebrations such as the Egg Drop science project, Día de Los Muertos, Career Day, Martin Luther King Day assembly, Lunar New Year, Read-a-Thon, Young Author’s Day, International Arts Celebration with Hamilton International Middle School and Field Day
  • Multi-age interaction and support such as Reading Buddies; “Roots of Empathy” (see below); “Special Friends” senior citizens who provide mentoring and support; tutors and mentors from the University of Washington, America Reads and local high schools
